Location Scouting

As a group we visited the locations we had in store to use for our opening sequence. For us finding the right location was essential because it's linked to the mise-en-scene. The setting is crucial in a task like this because it tells the audience a lot about the character. For instance if we took establishing shots you automatically get ideas of what the story could be based on.

The locations we decided on were; Morden Underground, Morden Library and a Room with a desk. For us to have permission to use these sources we had to travel there and get permission. That didn't work due to time. Our first stop was the Morden Library where I spoke to three people to only find out that I couldn't get the permission to record there because not only did I have to fill in paperwork but I had to wait a few days till they get submitted for the permission.

I had spoken to two people that work in the Modern Underground and they said "You have to contact the head office to get a permit to record"and so I did. However, they won't even pick up the phone and so that idea went straight to the trash. These issues led to the mise-en-scene changing to something completely different. For the library we changed it to the school's library and the station along with the room with a desk were changed for an Art room. The room with a desk was too expensive so we decided to remove that idea.
